How JobPilot helps data scientists show their work
JobPilot compares your data science resume with each posting, shows which methods, languages and tools the job asks for that your resume doesn't mention, and tailors your resume using only the projects and results you actually have. It never invents model metrics or tools you haven't used.

Why is a data science resume hard to match to a posting?
-
One title, very different jobs
"Data scientist" can mean analytics, experimentation or production machine learning, and each asks for different methods and tools.
-
Model scores without context
An accuracy or AUC figure says little without what the model was used for and what changed because of it.
-
Tool lists that hide your strengths
Listing every library you have touched makes it hard to see what you are actually strong in.
-
Research reads differently
A thesis, papers or competition projects need to be framed around the kind of problems the employer has.

See pricingWhat should a data science resume show?
General guidance. Every method, tool and result must be one you can explain.
| Section | What to include |
|---|---|
| Methods | Statistical and machine learning methods you have applied, such as regression, classification, time-series forecasting or NLP. |
| Tools | Languages, libraries and platforms you have used, for example Python, SQL, R, Spark or PyTorch. |
| Model impact | What the model was used for and what changed, with metrics only if you measured them. |
| Portfolio | Projects, papers, notebooks or repositories, with the data, the method and the outcome. |
| Education | Degree, thesis topic and relevant coursework, especially early in your career. |
Resume or CV: what changes by country?
The document is the same: a UK or Australian CV is what US and Canadian postings call a resume. What changes is the wording postings use. Spelling varies: "modeling" is the usual US spelling, while "modelling" is common in the UK, Canada and Australia. Use the spelling the posting uses for skills you list.
| Country | What the document is called |
|---|---|
| United States | Usually "resume". A "CV" usually means a longer academic or research document. |
| Canada | Usually "resume"; "CV" is also used. |
| United Kingdom | Usually "CV", meaning the same kind of document as a US resume. |
| Australia | "Resume" and "CV" are both used for the same document. |
Will JobPilot invent accuracy or revenue numbers?
No. JobPilot only rewords what is on your resume. Metrics appear only if you wrote them; otherwise a [placeholder] marks where a real number could go.
Should I list every library I have used?
List the ones you can discuss in an interview. The match result shows which tools a posting asks for, so you can see which of yours matter for that job.
Can I use academic or competition projects?
Yes. If they are on your resume, JobPilot can match them to postings and reword them around what each job asks for.
Does it work for ML engineer and research roles?
Yes. JobPilot works with any posting that has a written description, including machine learning engineer and research scientist jobs.
